Oromo Evangelical Lutheran Church in Los Angeles

The name of this congregation shall be OROMO EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN LOS ANGELES

*Whereas by Oromo we mean the Oromo speaking Christians.

* Whereas by Evangelical we mean we are a community of believers that confess  salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in the Person and work of Christ alone as revealed in the Scripture alone, to the glory of God alone.

Our mission

The purpose of this congregation shall be to give honor and glory to God, to carry out His will, to assist in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the World, to manifest the unity of our faith in Jesus Christ as God and Savior, to foster Christian fellowship and love, to extend a helping hand in human need, and to achieve these objectives by the preaching of the word of God, by the administration of the sacraments, and by the religious instruction of all our members according to the confessional standard of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

This congregation accepts without reservation:

The Scriptures of the Old and the New Testament as the written Word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and practice.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Preaching Gospel on Public. Jesus is a Lord and savior, he came for all over the world to give us eternal life.

Gospel preach at public

Be hold, I will do a new thing; now it shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:19

The way of Jesus is not easy, but it is simple. If we treat others with kindness, compassion, and respect, we are following the way of the cross. when we submit our lives to the Lord, we give up the right to hold onto our offenses and bitterness in the name of love. It is the harder way, but it is Jesus’ way.

Jesus, thank you for the reminder of how simple your law of love is. Help me to choose kindness and humility over offense and pride. Fill me with your spirit’s strength and empower me to live like you.

Amen!

Women’s Ministries Programs at the t public park

The purpose of Women’s Ministries programs, if it is to entertain the women of your church, it is time to close down—there is plenty of entertainment elsewhere. The purpose of all programs must be the spiritual growth of women, both those in the church and those whom the church is wanting to reach by using mentoring, small groups, training, nurture, or personal growth and affirmation. Therefore, when planning a program, it is important to see how it will not only benefit the women of the church, but how it can bring other women to the church. In these programs all can grow as Christian women. But guests should also be able to develop relationships that will bring them back to the church for evangelistic type programs. This goal should always be kept in mind when planning programs.

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

This verse emphasizes the presence of Jesus among believers who gather in His name, providing comfort and assurance that He is actively involved in their lives. It serves as a reminder of the importance of community and unity in faith, highlighting that Jesus is present when His followers come together.

Welcoming new immigrants

Hebrews 13:2
Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers, especially among the family of believers—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it
